CPRMC Welcomes Sam Fareri as New Director of Rehabilitation Services

September 9, 2024

Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center is proud to welcome Sam Fareri, OTD, OTR/L as the new Director of Rehabilitation Services. Sam brings a deep commitment to patient care and a fresh perspective to the role. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Science from Clarion University and a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Chatham University.

Sam’s passion for occupational therapy was inspired by his personal experience with rehabilitation. After undergoing three shoulder surgeries due to collegiate football injuries, he was deeply impacted by the care he received. “Going through rehabilitation myself, I saw firsthand the difference it can make in someone’s life. I’m driven to offer that same level of care to my patients,” he shares.

Specializing in upper extremity rehabilitation, particularly in orthopedic and neurological conditions, Sam is dedicated to helping patients regain function and enhance their quality of life. He employs specific manual techniques and targeted muscle strengthening to support recovery from shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand surgeries or injuries. His approach ensures each patient receives personalized care tailored to their unique needs. To further deepen his expertise, Sam is currently working towards becoming a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT).

As the new Director, Sam has already demonstrated his hands-on approach by immediately joining the coaching staff for Hartsville High School football, reflecting his passion for sports and community engagement. In his role at Carolina Pines, he is focused on building a team that embodies the family-oriented culture of the organization. His goals include fostering continuous learning, ensuring patients feel welcomed and supported throughout their rehabilitation journey, and maintaining a collaborative leadership style that values team input.

Outside of work, Sam enjoys spending time with his fiancée and three dogs, playing guitar, and exploring the local beaches. Having previously worked at Carolina Pines as a travel occupational therapist, he was eager to return due to the supportive and positive atmosphere he experienced during his time here. Now, he is excited to contribute to the hospital and the community he now calls home!
