December 27, 2022

On Wednesday, December 14, Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center (CPRMC) honored two of the hospitals’ retiring providers, Dr. T. James “Jimmy” Bell and Shari Carter, FNP.
Dr. Bell, MD, cared for patients at Carolina Pines for more than 50 years and in the process became a fixture in the lives of this community and surrounding areas. He is retiring from practice this month. Shari Carter, a beloved nurse practitioner at Carolina Pines for over 22 years, is also retiring this month.
“Dr. Bell and Shari are practically institutions at Carolina Pines and have literally put their healing touch on thousands of our friends, family and neighbors in this community over the years,” said Bill Little, CEO of CPRMC. “It is bittersweet to see them go, but they have more than earned their retirement and their legacy of compassionate care will live on in our hospital.”
At Wednesday’s retirement reception at the hospital, several colleagues and family members lauded the retirees, including Little; Dr. Gregory Connor; Dr. William Powell; Ashley Copeland, CCRN; Tyler Beasley, Materials Management Director at CPRMC and Carter’s daughter; and Nancy Bell, Dr. Bell’s wife. Dr. Bell and Carter also shared remarks on their full careers and experiences they were grateful for during their time at CPRMC. To cap off the night, City Council Member and Mayor Pro Tem Johnny Andrews presented a proclamation declaring December 14 as “Dr. Jimmy Bell Day.”
Both, Bell and Carter have touched the lives of so many in our community. Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center is fortunate to have been a part of their journey as they made their impact.
